Daimler Truck North America has reached a significant milestone with the production of its 10,000th Freightliner eCascadia battery-电动卡车 at its Portland, Oregon manufacturing facility. The achievement establishes the eCascadia as the highest-volume 8级 battery-电动卡车 in North America.

Evolution of the Platform

The eCascadia has undergone continuous improvement since its initial launch. The current model offers a 270-mile range on a single charge using a 621 kWh battery pack, up from 230 miles at launch. Charging time has been reduced to approximately 90 minutes from 20% to 80% using a 350 kW CCS charger. The truck produces 536 continuous 马力 and 1,850 lb-ft of 扭矩 from its eAxle 传动系统.

Major 车队 operators have provided valuable real-world data on eCascadia performance. NFI Industries, which operates the largest 车队 of eCascadias, reports an average energy consumption of 1.7 kWh per mile in drayage operations, with total cost of ownership approximately 15% lower than a comparable diesel Cascadia when California LCFS credits are factored in. Maintenance costs are approximately 40% lower than diesel counterparts.

Next Generation

Daimler has confirmed that a next-generation eCascadia with an 800-volt electrical architecture and silicon carbide inverters is in development, promising a 350-mile range and Megawatt Charging System (MCS) compatibility. The updated model is expected to begin production in 2028.
