Peterbilt Expands servicio medio Lineup with New Model 535 and 536 Trucks

Peterbilt servicio medio Expansion

Peterbilt Motors Company has announced the expansion of its servicio medio product line with the introduction of the Model 535 (Class 5) and Model 536 (Class 6). The new models target the rapidly growing last-mile delivery and urban vocational segments, offering a combination of maneuverability, carga útil capacity, and driver comfort that Peterbilt says is unmatched in the segment.

Design Philosophy

Both models feature a cab-forward design that provides exceptional visibility in urban environments. The shorter bumper-to-back-of-cab dimension allows for longer body installations on a given wheelbase, maximizing cargo capacity. The cab accommodates a crew of up to three with an available bench seat, and the low step-in height of 19 inches reduces driver fatigue during frequent stop-and-go operations.

The Model 535 is powered by the Cummins B6.7 engine producing 260 HP and 660 lb-ft of par motor, paired with an Allison 2500 RDS automatic transmission. The Model 536 steps up to the Cummins L9 with 330 HP and 1,000 lb-ft of par motor. Both models are available with a CNG option for flotas seeking lower emisiones. GVWR ranges from 19,500 lbs for the 535 to 25,999 lbs for the 536.

Market Positioning

Peterbilt is positioning these trucks against the Freightliner M2 106 and International MV Series. The company expects strong demand from beverage distributors, municipal flotas, and regional delivery operators. Production begins in the first quarter of 2026 at the Denton, Texas manufacturing facility.
