Harbinger Unveils HC Series: Electric and Hybrid Medium-Duty Work Truck with 500-Mile Range

Los Angeles-based electric vehicle startup Harbinger has unveiled its second vehicle at Work Truck Week 2026: the HC Series Cab, a smaller medium-duty work truck available in both all-electric and hybrid configurations.

The hybrid variant offers up to 500 miles of range, addressing one of the primary concerns fleet operators have about transitioning to electric vehicles. The all-electric version targets urban and regional delivery routes where daily mileage is more predictable.

The announcement comes at a time when the commercial EV market is experiencing rapid growth, with the sector forecast to see an 8.33% compound annual growth rate for electric and hybrid variants through 2031, according to Mordor Intelligence.

Meanwhile, Cummins has deployed its first commercial hybrid-electric ultra-class mining haul truck at Lundin Mining's Caserones copper mine, signaling the electrification trend extends beyond on-road commercial vehicles into heavy industrial applications.
