Geotab Launches Integrated Fleet Sustainability Dashboard with Carbon Tracking
Geotab Fleet Sustainability Dashboard
Geotab, one of the world's largest telematics companies with over 3.5 million connected vehicles, has launched an integrated sustainability dashboard within its MyGeotab fleet management platform. The tool enables fleet operators to track carbon emissions across their entire vehicle fleet, set reduction targets, and generate compliance reports.
Carbon Tracking Features
The sustainability dashboard calculates carbon emissions at the individual vehicle, route, and fleet-wide levels using a combination of actual fuel consumption data from the vehicle ECM and EPA-published emission factors. For electric vehicles, the system accounts for regional grid carbon intensity using data from the EPA's eGRID database, providing accurate well-to-wheel emissions comparisons.
Electrification Planning
A key feature is the Electric Vehicle Suitability Assessment (EVSA) 2.0, which analyzes actual driving patterns, routes, and energy requirements for every vehicle in the fleet to determine which are candidates for electrification. The updated EVSA includes commercial vehicle support for the first time, analyzing Class 3 through Class 8 vehicles.
Regulatory Compliance
The dashboard helps fleets comply with emerging emissions reporting requirements, including the SEC climate disclosure rules, California's SB 253, and the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). Automated report generation provides data in the formats required by each regulatory framework.
