Bosch Launches Next-Generation ESI Truck Diagnostic Platform with J1939 Enhancements

Bosch ESI 3.0 Diagnostic Platform

Bosch Automotive Service Solutions has released the ESI (Electronic Service Information) 3.0 diagnostic platform, representing a major leap forward in 重型卡车 diagnostics. The new system features significantly expanded SAE J1939 protocol coverage, supporting over 15,000 diagnostic trouble codes across all major North American truck OEMs and engine manufacturers.

Cloud-Connected Diagnostics

The ESI 3.0 introduces cloud-based diagnostic intelligence, where the tool connects to Bosch's cloud servers to access the latest troubleshooting procedures, technical service bulletins, and known fix databases in real-time. When a technician encounters a fault code, the system automatically queries the cloud database for the most common root causes and verified repair procedures, significantly reducing diagnostic time.

Hardware Specifications

The new hardware platform features a ruggedized 12-inch tablet with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, IP65 water and dust resistance, and a sunlight-readable display. The Vehicle Communication Interface (VCI) supports simultaneous J1939, J1708/J1587, and CAN bus communication, allowing technicians to monitor multiple vehicle networks simultaneously. Battery life exceeds 10 hours of continuous diagnostic use.

Subscription Model

Bosch is transitioning to a subscription-based pricing model for the ESI 3.0, with plans starting at $199/month for independent repair shops and $149/month per seat for 车队 operations with five or more licenses. The subscription includes unlimited software updates, cloud diagnostic access, and 24/7 technical support.
